Ted Tornow was the General Manager for the Butte Copper Kings of the Pioneer League during Butte's affiliation with Tampa Bay.
Professional history
Turnow began his career in professional baseball in Green Bay, WI in 1984. From 1985 through at least 1987 he worked in media operations for the Tennessee Chicks, for the Huntsville Stars in 1992, and as Assistant General Manager for the Jackson Generals of the Texas League through the 1994 season.[1]
Butte Copper Kings
Turnow was the General Manager for the Butte Copper Kings from 1995 through 1998, including 1996 when the team was Tampa Bay's Advanced Rookie-level affiliate. Following that season, Turnow was honored as the Pioneer League's Executive of the Year for his role in the franchise's first playoff appearance in seven years and its then-largest ever season attendance figure.
Current Status
Since leaving the Copper Kings, Turnow has held the position of General Manager for the Clinton LumberKings of the Class-A Midwest League.[2]
