Professional history

Turnow was the General Manager for the Butte Copper Kings from 1995 through 1998, including 1996 when the team was Tampa Bay's Advanced Rookie-level affiliate. Following that season, Turnow was honored as the Pioneer League's Executive of the Year for his role in the franchise's first playoff appearance in seven years and its largest ever season attendance figure.
