- Tampa Bay dismissed Bill Fischer from his position as Major League pitching coach.[2]

- Outfielder Rocco Baldelli was placed on the 15-day disabled list due to leg fatigue.[3]
- Infielder Willy Aybar was activated to replace Baldelli on the roster.[3]
- Minor league infielder Cody Cipriano was activated from the 7-day disabled list at Double-A Montgomery.[4]
