The 2006 Rule 5 Draft (held on December 7, 2006) is probably the most significant of all Rule 5 Drafts the Tampa Bay franchise has participated in, not for any players the organization acquired (they selected only one player in the Major League portion, who was immediately traded for cash considerations), but rather for whom they lost.
