- Tampa Bay dismissed Bill Fischer from his position as Major League pitching coach.[3]

- Outfielder Rocco Baldelli was placed on the 15-day disabled list due to leg fatigue.[4]
- Infielder Willy Aybar was activated to replace Baldelli on the roster.[4]
