- Pitchers Matt Ruebel and Russ Springer were optioned to Triple-A Durham.[1]
- Outfielder Bubba Trammell was recalled from Triple-A Durham.[1]
- Pitcher Wilson Alvarez was activated from the 15-day disabled list.[1]
- Pitcher Bryan Rekar was activated from the 60-day disabled list.[1]
1999
- Pitchers Mickey Callaway and Mike Duvall were activated from the 15-day disabled list and optioned to Triple-A Durham.[2]
