- Pitcher Jesus Colome and catcher Toby Hall were optioned to Triple-A Durham.[1]
- Pitcher Bobby Seay was optioned to Double-A Orlando.[1]
- Pitcher Mike Duvall was released.[1]
2003
- Outfielder Greg Vaughn, and pitchers John Frascatore and Bob Wells were released.[2]
- Pitchers Delvin James and Jason Standridge, and infielders Antonio Perez and Jared Sandberg were optioned to Triple-A Durham.[2]
