- Pitchers Bryan Rekar and Mike Duvall were optioned to Triple-A Durham.[1]
- Pitchers Roger Bailey and Erik Plantenberg, catcher Cesar Devarez, infielder Dave Silvestri, and outfielder Terrell Lowery were assigned to minor league camp.[1]
2000
- Pitchers Jim Morris and Jeff Sparks were optioned to Triple-A Durham.[2]
- Pitchers Bobby Seay and Matt White were assigned to minor league camp.[2]
