In 2009, the Tampa Bay Rays organization sent several players to the Arizona Fall League.

Rays minor league pitchers Matt Gorgen, Paul Phillips, Heath Rollins, and Mitch Talbot, infielders Cody Cipriano and Shawn O'Malley, and catcher Nevin Ashley played for the Phoenix Desert Dogs that year.[1]
